Overview

Laser skin resurfacing uses a controlled amount of laser energy to remove damaged layers of skin and stimulate collagen production. This helps to improve sun damage, texture and fine lines.

Treatment can range from minimal downtime with mild treatments to deeper resurfacing with more significant results.

Is it right for you?

You may be a good candidate if the following describe you:

  • You have fine lines, sun damage or texture issues.
  • You would like to improve your skin quality with or without surgery.
  • You can avoid sun exposure during healing.
  • You have realistic expectations regarding results and downtime.

How the procedure works

Your skin will be evaluated to determine the appropriate amount of laser and depth to address your skin and concerns. Mild treatments require minimal downtime, while deeper treatments require more downtime but provide more significant results.

Resurfacing can be used in conjunction with other surgeries such as a facelift. Surgery will reposition tissue while resurfacing will improve the skin's surface.
