Overview

A Brazilian butt lift uses fat from other areas of your body to add volume and reshape the buttocks, so you get contouring in two areas at once.

Because the procedure uses your own tissue rather than an implant, the result can look and feel natural when it is done with care.

Is it right for you?

You may be a good candidate if the following describe you:

  • You would like more shape, projection, or fullness in the buttocks.
  • You have enough fat in other areas to harvest for transfer.
  • You can avoid prolonged pressure directly on the area during the healing process.
  • You are in good general health and do not smoke.

How the procedure works

Fat is harvested with liposuction and then purified and carefully reinjected to reshape the buttocks. Patient safety is of utmost importance during the procedure. Dr. Whitlock follows current best-practice guidelines regarding fat transfer.

Some of the transferred fat will be naturally absorbed. This is taken into account during the procedure to ensure that the final results match your expectations.

Recovery

First 2 weeksPressure on the buttocks is limited while the transferred fat is healing.
2–4 weeksGradual return to normal sitting and light activity.
Several monthsFinal volume settles as the transferred fat establishes itself.
