Overview

Breast position can be affected by pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight change and time in ways that are not within your control. A breast lift will restore the shape and position of your breasts as before these changes occurred without adding any volume that you did not request.

By removing excess skin and tightening the breast tissue the breast will be repositioned to sit at its original position, higher, firmer and in proportion to the rest of your body. The nipple will also be repositioned to a natural position as part of the same procedure.

Is it right for you?

You may be a good candidate if the following describe you:

  • Your breasts have lost firmness and/or are sagging. The nipple is at or below the breast crease.
  • You are happy with the size of your breasts but not the position or shape.
  • Ideally, you are at a stable weight and not planning future pregnancies.
  • You are in good overall health and are not a smoker.

How the procedure works

Dr. Whitlock will make an incision pattern based on the degree of sagging. The goal is to achieve meaningful results while making scars as discreet as possible.

If you would also like to increase fullness, a lift can be combined with an implant in the same procedure. This will be discussed during your consultation based on your goals.

Common questions

Breast Lift questions

Answers to questions patients ask most about this procedure.
Will a lift make my breasts larger?
A lift alone will reshape and reposition the breast but will not add volume. If you would like both lift and increased volume an implant can be combined with the lift.
Where will my scars be?
The scar pattern will depend on the amount of lifting required. Dr. Whitlock will choose the method that will achieve your desired results with the least amount of visible scars appropriate for your anatomy.
Can I still breastfeed after a lift?
Many patients are able to continue breastfeeding but it cannot be guaranteed. If future breastfeeding is important to you discuss this during your consultation.
